We are looking for like-minded health practitioners to be a part of The Golden Door Weekend Guest Speaker Program.

Opportunities exist for practitioners or leaders in their field to align with The Golden Door and help make our Philosophy of ‘Balance in life’ a reality for our guests. This is a unique opportunity to be a part of our wonderful family of staff and guests and to experience for yourself The Golden Door way of Life.

We invite you to provide guests with a 1 hour educational and informative seminar on your specialised field. This is provided within our theatre with professional AV equipment provided.

• One night accommodation for 2 guests twin share in a one bedroom villa
• Inclusive of all meals and activities
• Exposure on The Golden Door website, Face Book page and possible email marketing
• Opportunity to on sell your services to in-house guests for their private services and/or clinic through promotional material
• Future opportunities may exist to participate with Elysia for our specialty retreat program (must apply separately)

This is your chance to experience the opportunity to become part of a unique team of dedicated, skilled professionals who ensure every guests need is individually met. It is the ideal environment for someone who is seeking a career in Health, Tourism, Human Movement, Nutrition or Management.

Internship participants are typically students studying at university, TAFE or other educational institutions. People currently working or considering a career change will be considered on an individual basis.

The Program
There is a minimum of a 6 week commitment for the internship program. Students who commit to the program work 5 consecutive weeks (unpaid internship) and receive The Golden Door guest program at no charge, as the sixth week.

The Opportunity

• Work across a broad range of departments including Office, Kitchen, Dining, Housekeeping, Wellness and Spa and Phys Ed
• Clean healthy mountain air environment, delicious vegetarian food and pure water
  Team environment committed to health and wellbeing
• Interaction with guests who are faced with the challenge of achieving their health and life goals
• Twin share accommodation and bathroom with gratis use of retreat facilities
• 2 days off per week
• Can be credited to the practical module of your relevant field of study
• Experience The Golden Door guest program, 5 days valued at $2,480 at no charge

• A positive energetic outlook committed to our guests needs at all times
• Long hours and hard work (ranging from menial to challenging)
• Adherence to the rules of the guest program (no alcohol, nicotine, recreational drugs)

My work experience at the Golden Door Elysia entailed meeting amazing people, creating a family with the staff, obtaining a high fitness level, learning high social skills and enjoying the program activities whilst lending a hand wherever possible. While at Elysia you will stay in one of the beautiful villas, most meals are with the guests; you will have experience in both the hotel and health retreat business and will interact in most daily activities. Starting the day with morning wakeup calls, setting up the facilities, helping with the morning walk, assisting with cleaning and setting up at breakfast, lunch and dinner and other rostered duties. Although it was work it never seemed like a chore because you will find that the atmosphere and people are a pure joy to be around. The staff a small tight knit group and will love having you. Within a day it is easy to find yourself a part of the team. I truly hope you will enjoy it as much as I did as I had to be pushed out the door at the end of my weeks.
