How long should I stay?We offer a range of program stay options at Elysia where the length of stay is dependant on what your personal outcomes are. Our 7 day Health Enhancement Program is famous for providing "life changing" experiences and chosen for it's ability to provide real tangible results for our guests after they return home. For those unable to attend the full 7 days, we offer a range of shorter stay programs including 5 day, 3 day and weekend programs that provide insights into The Golden Door's philosophy of "skilful living and graceful aging".
Will I feel comfortable if I come alone?Yes, in fact many guests come to The Golden Door alone and it's a great opportunity to meet other people.
How do I prepare for my stay?Try to reduce the amount of caffeine, alcohol and nicotine that you consume the week before your arrival. We also recommend that you bring primarily casual, comfortable clothing with good sports shoes and leave valuables, such as jewellery, at home. Once at the retreat, we advise that you do not dine outside in order that you gain maximum benefits from your stay and your package is fully inclusive of all meals, snacks and beverages.
Where is Elysia and how do I get there?Elysia is set on a spectacular hilltop surrounded by vineyards and a mountain range just an hour and a half north west of Sydney in the NSW Hunter Valley. In fact, Elysia is far enough from the hustle and bustle of the city to connect you to nature, but not so far from the big centres that a shorter stay is impossible. What should I bring?
Whether during the day or at night you will always feel comfortable in casual wear at Elysia. We recommend that you bring 2 pairs of runners/walking shoes (good tread) and appropriate attire for the activities you wish to participate in e.g. bike riding, fitness classes etc. Clothing should be practical, functional and comfortable. It is recommended to "layer dress" in the cooler months so you can discard clothing layers as the activity changes. A wide selection of CDs and DVDs are available in our guest library for your convenience.

What amenties are available in the Villas?
In your villa we provide bathroom amenities, hair dryer, bath robe, slippers, iron and ironing board, alarm clock, in room safe, television, DVD player and a stereo/CD player.
How do I book spa treatments, wellness consultations or private activity sessions?
Guests at Elysia are able to enjoy an extensive range of healing and spa services. Should you have any specific spa treatment requests, you are welcome to contact our Wellness Centre team directly by phoning (02) 4993 8500 or email spa@elysia.com.au All treatments and booking times are confirmed once you arrive at the retreat and have met with our Wellness Centre staff to discuss your personal preferences and availability. Please let us know in advance if you have any special health or physical considerations that may affect your treatments or activities at the spa.
Can I bring my mobile?One of the great things about spending time at our retreat, is that you can enjoy some time out from the constant noise and contact of the real world. It is for this very purpose that mobile phone use is restricted to your villa.
What if I have specific dietary needs?We can cater for a wide range of medical conditions on an individual basis to ensure that you will receive exactly what you need to maximise the benefits of your stay. There is no other facility in Australia that will offer such a variety of gourmet, healthy spa cuisine.
Am I able to play golf next door at Cypress Lakes Resort?Your golf activity can be booked on your behalf through the Wellness Centre on arrival. We ask that tee times are made for the afternoon to allow you to take full advantage of the activities and seminars scheduled in the mornings.
Do you have EFTPOS facility?
We have EFTPOS facilities (but NO cash out facility) and accept all major credit cards. Cheques may only be used when they have been authorised by management and guaranteed by a credit card.
Can children visit Elysia?The minimum age for guests at Elysia is 16 years
Are pets allowed at Elysia?Unfortunately the retreat does not allow pets.
