With 21 years experience in the industry and so much to offer we are primed and excited to reach out to our Golden Door online community to share our views, ideas and stories on all things health and wellness. Most importantly we look forward to hearing from you – let the conversations begin!

To kick start the Blog and in celebration of Elysia’s 10th Birthday I’d like to share my #1 Healthy Top Tip. Whilst there are so many top tips I could share from my experience over nine years with Golden Door, in narrowing it down to one, the big one, it would have to be value your health. We often hear people say don’t take your health for granted and whilst it is a common enough saying, unfortunately it is not taken seriously enough.

It never ceases to amaze me the boundaries we push, the habits that we form and the years of neglect that evolves into what we perceive to be “a normal way of life”. And typically when we take our health for granted, and it eventually fails, it suddenly becomes a priority. To see firsthand the incredible transformation that a week at the Golden Door can do, where people’s priorities change and feeling fantastic becomes the norm is incredibly rewarding.
So, if needed, how can you reprioritise your health? Three key words I often put into action are;

  • Pause
  • Breathe and
  • Reassess.

Ask yourself; is my life constantly on super drive and often out of control? What is the gap between where I am now physically, mentally and spiritually and where I would like to be? Awareness of how you are living your life is the first step and then truly valuing the feeling of being in control and in great health is paramount.

If you have been taking you health for granted (or just really indolent over winter) then now is the time to join our Spring Campaign. We are encouraging our guests to ‘motivate a mate’ and to challenge each other to kick start a new healthy spring regime. What’s going to motivate you to get going this Spring?

    Hi Brig
    I visited in March this year after basically 6 years of virtually no focus on my health, and having two children. Although not overweight, I was SOOOOO out of condition but just thought it was all due to getting older. The program reignited my motivation levels and now I’m back at the gym around 4 (or more) times a week with a focus on mindful eating and taking care of my temple! Thanks, Golden Door team, for helping me to clear away the clutter and see what really matters in life. I’ve got a spring in my step again and have realised that getting older doesn’t mean it’s all over yet! My main motivator now is the fact that my body feels younger and stronger than it has for the last 5 years and I realise I can keep improving that. The fact that I’ve thrown out all my sloppy clothes also helps!

    that before. So great to find somebody with a few unique thoughts
    on this subject matter. Seriously.. many thanks for starting this up.
